Industrial Engineering Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a results-oriented Industrial Engineering Manager to lead their established team in Sunderland . This leadership position is responsible for overseeing all industrial engineering activities, driving operational strategy, and ensuring the efficient functioning of manufacturing and production processes. You will manage a team of engineers, set departmental goals, and collaborate with senior management to align engineering initiatives with business objectives. This is a key strategic role for an experienced leader committed to maximizing productivity and fostering innovation within a busy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the industrial engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for optimizing production processes, facility layouts, and material flow.
• Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, Six Sigma projects , and other continuous improvement programs.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality regulations, and company policies throughout all operational activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain departments to resolve operational challenges and improve overall performance.
• Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred), and process optimization methodologies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning systems.
