About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Derby . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their manufacturing plant by maintaining and repairing various industrial machinery. You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical faults, performing preventative maintenance, and carrying out necessary repairs to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has strong practical skills, a good understanding of mechanical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality within an industrial setting in Derby .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment, including pumps, conveyors, and processing units.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals to guide repair work.
• Carry out tasks such as welding, grinding, and fitting components as required.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance performed and parts used.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Fitter or in a similar mechanical fitting role.
• Strong practical skills in mechanical repair, including working with various tools and machinery.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications and drawings.
• Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
• Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship is preferred.
