About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Fitter to join their operational team in Wolverhampton, West Midlands . This role is central to ensuring the continuous operation of manufacturing and industrial equipment through effective preventative and reactive maintenance. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling machinery, diagnosing faults, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime. This is a crucial hands-on role for an experienced individual committed to upholding high standards in installation and maintenance within a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Repair and replace worn or defective parts, ensuring machinery is returned to full operational capacity.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals for repair and installation tasks.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report on completed work and required parts.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Fitter or similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with a variety of industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and general fitting tasks is advantageous.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations within an industrial setting.
• Flexibility to work shifts and potentially participate in an on-call rota.
