About the Role
Our client is seeking a reliable Industrial Maintenance Operative to join their team in Sheffield . This hands-on role is integral to the smooth operation of their production facility, focusing on the upkeep and repair of machinery and equipment. You will perform a range of maintenance tasks, including preventative checks, lubrication, minor repairs, and general upkeep to ensure equipment runs efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
- Perform basic mechanical and electrical repairs as directed.
- Lubricate machinery and replenish consumables as part of the maintenance schedule.
- Identify and report any faults or potential issues with equipment to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the maintenance workshop and equipment areas.
- Assist skilled maintenance engineers with more complex repair tasks.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an industrial maintenance or factory setting is highly desirable.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Understanding of basic health and safety principles in an industrial environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Good observational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Located in or able to commute to Sheffield .
