Industrial Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Process Engineer for a challenging contract role based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . This position focuses on evaluating and re-engineering existing industrial processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance. You will work closely with production teams and management to implement solutions that align with industry best practices and company objectives. The role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can quickly assess complex systems, propose practical improvements, and contribute to optimizing the manufacturing environment within a defined project timeline, ensuring key deliverables are met effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analyses of current manufacturing and operational processes, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for cost reduction.
• Develop detailed process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for improved workflows.
• Design and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma principles, focusing on waste elimination and value stream optimization.
• Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to monitor process performance and validate the effectiveness of implemented changes in the Milton Keynes facility.
• Collaborate with production staff, maintenance teams, and management to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on process performance, project findings, and recommendations for continuous improvement strategies for the Buckinghamshire operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as an Industrial Process Engineer or in a similar role focusing on manufacturing or operations.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience with process mapping, root cause analysis, and statistical process control (SPC).
• Proficiency in relevant software, such as process simulation tools, CAD, and data analysis packages.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively.
