Scunthorpe - 3 Days Onsite and 2 Days Remote Following Probation
40,000 - 45,000 + Hybrid Working + Benefits
Are you a Software Engineer with strong C# and SQL skills looking to develop and support production-critical applications within a complex industrial manufacturing environment?
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering team responsible for developing and supporting systems that underpin large-scale manufacturing operations. Working within a diverse operational technology environment, you will be involved in application development, database management, system integration and operational support for business-critical platforms.
You will play a key role in improving system reliability, data integrity and overall performance while contributing to the ongoing modernisation of legacy platforms. This is a varied position offering exposure to industrial systems, data platforms, process control technologies and business-critical applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial experience with C# development and SQL databases, alongside a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Experience within a manufacturing, industrial or process-based environment would be advantageous. A basic understanding of PLCs or industrial control systems would also be beneficial, although direct PLC programming experience is not essential.

The Role:
- Develop and support production-critical applications primarily using C# and SQL
- Troubleshoot systems and integrations across complex manufacturing operations
- Improve system reliability, data integrity and overall performance
- Support reporting and visualisation solutions including Grafana and Power BI
- Contribute to legacy system support and major modernisation projects
- Work alongside operational, process control and wider technical teams
The Person:
- Strong commercial experience with C# development
- Good SQL experience
- Experience working with integrated systems and data flows
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing, industrial or process environment experience desirable
- Basic understanding of PLCs or industrial control systems advantageous
- Python and/or PHP experience beneficial but not essential
