About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Information Security Analyst to bolster their security operations centre (SOC) in Sheffield . This role is integral to monitoring security systems, detecting threats, and responding to security incidents in a timely and effective manner. You will work with a dedicated team to protect the organisation's digital infrastructure and sensitive data. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other security tools to identify potential threats.
- Investigate security incidents, perform initial analysis, and escalate as necessary according to defined procedures.
- Assist in the development and refinement of security monitoring rules and detection mechanisms.
- Conduct regular reviews of system logs and security event data.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security technologies and controls.
- Contribute to security awareness initiatives and provide basic security support to end-users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in a security operations or information security analyst role.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools and concepts (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
- Basic understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate findings clearly.
