Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and analytical Information Security Analyst to join their growing security team in Liverpool . This role is crucial for monitoring the company's security landscape, identifying potential threats, and responding to security incidents to protect critical information assets. You will work with a variety of security tools and technologies, analyze security logs, and contribute to the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and networks for threats, intrusions, and policy violations using SIEM and other tools.
• Investigate security alerts and incidents, performing initial triage and analysis to determine scope and impact.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assist in the remediation of identified weaknesses.
• Support the security team in managing and maintaining security tools and technologies.
• Contribute to security awareness training and educational initiatives for employees.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Information Security role or a closely related IT field.
• Good understanding of network security concepts, common vulnerabilities, and threat vectors.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools, such as SIEM systems and intrusion detection systems.
• Basic knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ are a plus.
