Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Information Security Analyst to join their remote-first team, based within commuting distance or able to attend occasional onsite meetings in Derby, Derbyshire, UK . This role is crucial for monitoring security systems, identifying potential threats, and supporting incident response activities. You will contribute to maintaining a strong security posture by analysing security data, implementing controls, and collaborating with various IT teams. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, and a proactive approach to protecting organisational assets in a dynamic digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Investigate security incidents, perform initial analysis, and escalate issues as per defined procedures.
• Assist in the implementation and management of security controls and technologies.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and support the remediation process.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of security documentation and policies.
• Support security awareness initiatives and provide basic security guidance to staff.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in an information security or IT support role with a security focus.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, network protocols, and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience with security monitoring tools is advantageous.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
