Information Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Information Security Analyst to join their remote cybersecurity team, supporting operations in Edinburgh . In this role, you will be vital in monitoring security systems, identifying potential threats, and contributing to the overall security posture of the organization. This fully remote position allows you to work from home while playing a crucial part in safeguarding sensitive data and ensuring compliance with security policies. You'll collaborate with a talented team dedicated to proactive threat detection and response.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools.
• Investigate security incidents, collect evidence, and assist in containment and eradication efforts.
• Perform regular vulnerability scans and analysis, documenting findings and recommending remediation steps.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation and procedures.
• Support the implementation and configuration of security tools and technologies.
• Contribute to security awareness initiatives and provide support to end-users on security matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in an information security role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, network protocols, and common attack vectors.
• Basic understanding of security principles, policies, and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
