Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Information Security Architect to design and implement secure infrastructure and systems in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for defining the security blueprint of the organization, ensuring that security is embedded into every stage of system design and development. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into secure technical solutions, evaluating new security technologies, and providing technical leadership to engineering and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of architectural principles and a passion for building resilient and secure systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document secure network, system, and application architectures.
• Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Develop security standards and guidelines for IT infrastructure and application development.
• Lead security design reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation, including threat models and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the effective implementation of security controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security architecture.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing secure solutions for on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and frameworks (e.g., OWASP, ISO 27001, NIST).
• Experience with identity and access management (IAM), data loss prevention (DLP), and encryption technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
