Information Security Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Information Security Architect to design and implement robust security solutions for their operations in Manchester . You will be responsible for translating security requirements into actionable architectural designs, ensuring that security is embedded into the fabric of the organisation's IT systems and infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of threat landscapes, architectural patterns, and emerging technologies to build resilient and secure systems that protect critical business assets and data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-level security architecture blueprints and roadmaps.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions to address identified risks.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure security best practices are implemented throughout the system lifecycle.
• Define security standards and guidelines for cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on security-related projects and initiatives.
• Conduct security reviews of system designs and proposed changes to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Security Architect or in a similar senior security engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and best practices.
• Expertise in designing security for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
• Experience with network security, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and encryption.
• Excellent understanding of application security and secure coding practices.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
