Information Security Consultant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Information Security Consultant to provide expert guidance on a contract basis, working remotely with a connection to Cambridge . You will be tasked with assessing and improving the security posture of various projects and systems, offering strategic advice, and implementing practical security solutions. This role demands a broad understanding of cybersecurity principles and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable security recommendations for diverse stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned consultant to leverage their expertise on challenging engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and gap analyses for client systems and processes.
• Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to client needs.
• Advise on best practices for network security, data protection, and cloud security.
• Assist clients in achieving compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Provide hands-on support for security tool implementation and configuration.
• Deliver clear and concise reports and presentations to client management and technical teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Information Security Consultant or in a similar senior security advisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
• Strong understanding of network security, application security, and cloud security principles.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and compliance audits.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements effectively.
