About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Information Security Consultant for a contract role based in Plymouth . This position involves providing expert advice and strategic guidance on security matters to various departments. You will assess existing security measures, identify potential risks, and recommend solutions to enhance the overall security posture of the organization. The role requires a strong understanding of current threats and compliance requirements, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, blending on-site collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and audits of IT systems, applications, and processes.
• Develop and present detailed reports outlining findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.
• Advise on the implementation of security controls and best practices to meet compliance requirements.
• Assist in the development and refinement of information security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as an Information Security Consultant or in a similar advisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Experience with various security technologies and solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
