About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Information Security Consultant to provide expert guidance and support for their security initiatives in Plymouth . This contract role will involve assessing current security postures, recommending improvements, and assisting with the implementation of enhanced security measures across various business units. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements to help the organization strengthen its defenses against emerging threats. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of delivering actionable security insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive information security assessments and audits for various systems and processes.
• Develop tailored security strategies and roadmaps to address identified risks and vulnerabilities.
• Advise on the implementation of security controls, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with compliance efforts related to data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Provide expert recommendations on security technologies and solutions.
• Deliver clear and concise reports and presentations to stakeholders on security findings and proposed solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Information Security Consultant or in a similar advisory role.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF), and compliance requirements.
• Expertise in areas such as network security, application security, cloud security, and data privacy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are highly advantageous.
