Our client is seeking an experienced and versatile Information Security Consultant for a contract position in Portsmouth . This role requires providing expert advice and support to various business units on security best practices, risk management, and compliance. You will assess current security measures, identify gaps, and recommend solutions to enhance the organisation's overall security posture. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments and audits of IT systems and business processes.
• Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with business objectives.
• Advise on data protection, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and compliance requirements.
• Assist in the design and implementation of security controls and technologies.
• Provide guidance on threat modelling, risk mitigation, and incident response planning.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record (5+ years) as an information security consultant or in a similar advisory role.
• Expertise in security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2) and compliance standards.
• Strong understanding of network security, cloud security principles, and application security .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
