About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their established team in Milton Keynes . Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and anti-malware solutions.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability scans of systems and networks within the Milton Keynes office.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and architectural diagrams.
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, performing forensic analysis and providing detailed reports.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure security is embedded into system designs and deployments.
- Stay abreast of the latest security threats and technologies, recommending and implementing appropriate defensive measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) as an Information Security Engineer or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with network security devices and protocols.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
