Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Information Security Engineer to contribute to their robust security infrastructure, primarily focusing on the technical implementation and maintenance of security systems in Milton Keynes . Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security.
• Configure and maintain security infrastructure to protect against evolving threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability management activities.
• Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans.
• Monitor system logs and security alerts, investigating potential security incidents.
• Collaborate with IT operations to ensure secure system configurations and deployments.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an Information Security Engineer or in a similar technical security role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and security architectures.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Splunk, or similar.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
• Proficiency in security best practices, risk assessment methodologies, and threat mitigation techniques.
