Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their entirely remote team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of implementing and managing security technologies that protect the company's critical information assets. You will focus on the practical application of security controls, incident response, and threat mitigation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a hands-on security professional to contribute to a robust security program and work collaboratively with a distributed engineering force, ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity, and availability across all systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
• Monitor network and system logs for security breaches or intrusions and respond to security alerts in a timely manner.
• Develop and automate security processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, and manage remediation efforts.
• Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training to employees.
• Contribute to incident response planning and execution, performing forensic analysis when required.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in an Information Security Engineer role or similar technical security position.
• Hands-on experience with managing and configuring various security technologies and platforms.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and common network protocols.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and best practices for securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a remote team structure.
