About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Information Security Engineer to join their expanding technology team in Belfast . This role is focused on the design, implementation, and maintenance of security systems and controls that protect the organization's IT infrastructure and data. You will play a key part in securing our client's digital assets against evolving cyber threats, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting various IT projects from a security perspective. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and anti-malware technologies.
- Configure and maintain security hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures across the organization.
- Monitor system logs and security alerts for suspicious activities and potential security breaches.
- Respond to security incidents, conducting initial investigations and supporting remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with IT operations teams to ensure security is integrated into system design and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as an Information Security Engineer or in a similar security role.
- Solid understanding of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and vulnerability management tools.
- Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
