Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their growing team based in Coventry . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to defend against cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage security infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Implement and maintain security controls and configurations across various platforms, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend remediation steps.
• Provide technical expertise and support for security-related incidents, including analysis, containment, and eradication.
• Develop and maintain documentation for security systems, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT operations to ensure security is integrated into the deployment and management of systems in Coventry .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field; relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are a plus.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in implementing and managing information security technologies.
• Solid understanding of network protocols, operating system security, and cloud security principles.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
• Ability to analyze complex security events and provide clear, actionable recommendations for mitigation.
