About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join their IT department in Coventry . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organisation's security infrastructure to protect against cyber threats. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activities and respond to security alerts promptly.
- Develop and execute security test plans, including vulnerability scanning and remediation.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Support IT infrastructure projects by incorporating security best practices from the outset.
- Troubleshoot and resolve security-related issues impacting systems and users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in an information security or IT support role with a security focus.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
- Understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and cloud security concepts.
- Ability to analyse security threats and implement effective countermeasures.
