Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a technically proficient Information Security Engineer to join their infrastructure team in Bradford . This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions that protect the organization's IT environment. You will work on a variety of security technologies, including network security, endpoint protection, and identity management systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on technical background and a passion for engineering secure and robust IT systems, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
• Deploy and maintain endpoint security solutions, such as antivirus and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) systems, ensuring principle of least privilege is applied.
• Conduct security assessments of new systems and applications before deployment.
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including network diagrams and configuration guides.
• Respond to and resolve security incidents affecting the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in information security engineering or a similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and network security architecture.
• Experience with security technologies like Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, CrowdStrike, or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CCNA Security, or CISSP are advantageous.
