About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Information Security Engineer to bolster their security capabilities in Coventry . This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls and systems to safeguard the organisation's digital assets. You will work on a hybrid model, collaborating with on-site and remote team members to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Develop and maintain security infrastructure documentation, including network diagrams and configuration standards.
- Monitor security alerts and events, responding promptly to potential threats and breaches.
- Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks against relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT operations and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide technical expertise and support for security-related projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in information security engineering or a similar technical security role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security technologies, and best practices.
- Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure) and container security is advantageous.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CISSP) are a plus.
