Information Security Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Information Security Engineer to join their dynamic team in Coventry . This role is integral to designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure that protects the company's digital assets. You will work on a hybrid basis, contributing to both on-site strategic planning and remote operational tasks. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate weaknesses.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing timely and effective resolution.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into new system deployments and upgrades.
• Stay abreast of emerging security threats and technologies, recommending improvements to existing controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Information Security Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, cryptography, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
