About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and proactive Information Security Engineer to join their expanding technology team in Milton Keynes . In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions to protect the organization's IT infrastructure and data. You will work on a variety of security projects, focusing on network security, threat detection, and incident response. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for potential security threats and anomalies.
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans, and recommend remediation actions.
- Participate in the incident response process, assisting in the investigation and resolution of security incidents.
- Develop and maintain documentation for security systems and procedures.
Requirements
- Solid experience (4+ years) as an Information Security Engineer or similar technical security role.
- Strong understanding of network security principles , protocols, and technologies.
- Hands-on experience with security tools like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and SIEM platforms.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security are advantageous.
