About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to lead their security efforts in Newcastle upon Tyne . This hybrid role offers a blend of remote flexibility and essential in-office collaboration, ensuring a balanced approach to security management. You will be responsible for developing and executing the overall information security strategy, protecting the organization's sensitive data, and ensuring robust compliance with industry regulations. This leadership position is critical in building and maintaining a strong security culture, driving continuous improvement, and responding effectively to emerging cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive information security strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the management of security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
- Lead and manage the information security team, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation.
- Manage incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery from security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and industry standards.
Requirements
- Significant experience in an Information Security Manager role or equivalent leadership position.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience with security technologies and architectures, including network security, endpoint security, and cloud security.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team and liaise with stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and executing security awareness programs for employees.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC) are strongly preferred.
