About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Birmingham . This critical role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust security programs designed to protect the organization's information assets. You will manage a team of security professionals, foster a security-conscious culture, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
• Develop, implement, and enforce organizational policies and procedures for information security and data protection.
• Oversee the risk management process, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of security risks across the enterprise.
• Manage the incident response process, ensuring rapid and effective containment, eradication, and recovery from security breaches.
• Collaborate with IT, legal, and business units to ensure alignment of security strategies with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular security awareness training programs for all employees to promote a strong security culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in information security management , with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and managing comprehensive security programs, including policy development, risk assessment, and incident response.
• Strong understanding of current threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies, as well as relevant compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly regarded.
