About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and proactive Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Cardiff . This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of information security programs, policies, and procedures to protect the organisation's assets and data. You will manage a team of security professionals, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as a key advisor on security matters to senior management. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall information security strategy and roadmap.
- Manage and mentor the information security team, fostering their professional growth and performance.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability management, and business impact analyses.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and manage security-related audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing security strategies and programs.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
