Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Sunderland . This role operates on a hybrid model, requiring a balance of on-site presence for key meetings and strategic planning, alongside remote flexibility. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's overall information security strategy, managing the security team, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. This is a critical leadership position for an individual passionate about building and maintaining a robust security culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce the company's information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of information security professionals, fostering their growth and development.
• Oversee risk management processes, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks.
• Manage the security incident response program, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security breaches.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and other department heads to integrate security into business strategy.
• Manage the security budget and oversee the selection and implementation of security technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information security , with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and executing security strategies and programs.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF), risk management, and compliance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are required.
