Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Information Security Manager to lead their security operations in Cardiff . This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's information security strategy, risk management, and compliance efforts. You will build and manage a high-performing security team, ensuring the protection of critical data and systems against sophisticated cyber threats. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader dedicated to embedding security best practices throughout the company and maintaining robust defense mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies to protect organizational assets.
• Lead and manage the information security team, providing guidance and professional development.
• Establish and manage an effective incident response plan, ensuring rapid and thorough mitigation of security breaches.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Conduct regular risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment , vulnerability management, and incident response methodologies.
• Excellent knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
• Relevant certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are strongly preferred.
