Information Security Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives from their Birmingham office. This senior leadership position is responsible for defining and executing the company's overall information security strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and protecting sensitive data. You will manage a team of security professionals, foster a security-aware culture, and collaborate with executive leadership to align security objectives with business goals. This is a critical role for an individual with a strong strategic vision and proven leadership capabilities in the cybersecurity domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company-wide information security program and strategy.
• Oversee and manage the security operations center (SOC) and incident response team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, DPA 2018) and industry standards.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for identified vulnerabilities.
• Manage the information security budget and vendor relationships.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering professional growth and high performance.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of security architecture, risk management, compliance, and threat intelligence.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing enterprise-level security policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
