About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Officer to join their established team in Brighton . This role requires a hands-on approach to managing and enhancing the organization's security framework. You will be responsible for overseeing security operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and educating staff on security best practices. This position is based full-time in our Brighton office, offering a stable and collaborative working environment focused on maintaining high levels of data protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect sensitive data.
• Oversee security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Manage incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR).
• Liaise with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all system design and deployment processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Information Security Officer or in a similar security management role.
• Solid understanding of security frameworks, risk management, and compliance standards.
• Experience with security technologies and tools.
• Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Relevant certifications such as CISM or CISSP are preferred.
