Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Information Security Officer to oversee and manage their cybersecurity framework. In this on-site role, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing security policies, procedures, and controls to protect the organization's information assets. You will conduct regular audits, manage security awareness training, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our client's data and systems, requiring a hands-on approach within their central Leeds operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
• Manage and oversee the deployment and operation of security technologies, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all information security matters, including incident response.
• Ensure the organization meets its legal and regulatory obligations regarding data protection and privacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an information security or IT security role.
• Solid understanding of information security principles, best practices, and relevant technologies.
• Experience with risk management frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
