Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Information Security Officer to join their team in Bristol . This role is pivotal in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company's information assets. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies and procedures, conducting security awareness training, and managing compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of information security principles and a commitment to fostering a secure environment, contributing to the overall risk management framework of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
• Oversee the implementation of security controls and technologies across the organization.
• Manage and deliver information security awareness training programs for employees.
• Act as a point of contact for security-related inquiries and incidents.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR.
• Monitor the effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an information security or compliance role.
• Solid understanding of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF) and risk management principles.
• Experience with data privacy regulations.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
