About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Information Security Officer to join their team in Leeds . This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and security of the company's information assets, developing and enforcing security policies, and managing risks effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing security awareness programs, conducting audits, and responding to security incidents, working closely with various departments to embed security best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of current security threats and a commitment to protecting the organization's sensitive data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's information security policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
- Manage and monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-malware solutions.
- Lead the response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Promote security awareness throughout the organization through training and communication initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Information Security role, preferably as an Officer or Analyst.
- Solid understanding of IT security principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with security technologies and tools, including SIEM, DLP, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations, such as GDPR.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+ or equivalent are advantageous.
