Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Information Security Officer to join their team in Bristol . This role is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day implementation and enforcement of the organization's security policies and procedures. You will work closely with the IT department and other business units to monitor security controls, conduct risk assessments, and respond to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security best practices and a proactive approach to safeguarding company information assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls to protect information assets against unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.
• Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
• Assist in the development and review of security policies and procedures.
• Monitor security logs and alerts for suspicious activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in an information security role.
• Good understanding of security principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.
• Ability to conduct basic security risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
