Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Officer to oversee and implement security measures within their organization located in Plymouth . This role is integral to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. You will be responsible for enforcing security policies, monitoring systems for suspicious activity, and responding to security incidents. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable about current security threats, and committed to fostering a secure environment for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce information security policies and procedures.
• Monitor network and system activity for security breaches and intrusions, responding to alerts.
• Conduct regular security awareness training for employees.
• Manage and maintain security systems, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access control.
• Perform risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security weaknesses.
• Maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in an information security or IT role with a security focus.
• Knowledge of common security threats, vulnerabilities, and countermeasures.
• Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Good organizational and communication skills , with the ability to work effectively within a team.
