About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Information Security Officer to oversee and manage security measures within their organization in Edinburgh . This role is vital for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's information security program .
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage and monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and anti-malware solutions.
- Lead incident response efforts, investigating security breaches and ensuring prompt resolution.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company security policies.
- Promote security awareness across the organization through training and communication initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an Information Security or similar role.
- Strong understanding of security principles, frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001), and best practices.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and encryption.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
