Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to join their team in Bristol . This role is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets through the implementation and management of security controls. You will conduct risk assessments, develop security policies, and respond to security incidents, working collaboratively with various departments to foster a security-conscious culture. This hybrid role offers a dynamic working environment that balances team collaboration with personal flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and identify security vulnerabilities across the organisation.
• Oversee the implementation and management of security controls, including access management and data loss prevention.
• Lead the incident response process, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
• Promote security awareness and provide training to employees.
• Monitor security systems and respond to security alerts and threats.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in an information security role.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and best practices.
• Experience with security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities.
