Information Security Operations Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Information Security Operations Lead to spearhead their security operations centre (SOC) functions. This fully remote role is crucial for leading the team responsible for monitoring, detecting, analysing, and responding to cybersecurity threats across the organisation's digital landscape. You will play a key role in developing and refining operational processes, managing security tools, and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the SOC. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of security analysts responsible for 24/7 security monitoring and incident response.
• Oversee the operation and optimisation of the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system and other security tools.
• Develop, implement, and maintain incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures.
• Conduct advanced threat hunting and analysis to proactively identify and mitigate emerging threats.
• Manage the triage and escalation of security incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Collaborate with other IT and security functions to improve overall security posture and response capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in information security operations, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing a SOC environment and leading security operations teams.
• Deep understanding of security technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Expertise in incident response methodologies and forensic analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, ideally within a remote team structure.
