About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Information Security Specialist to join their team based in Plymouth . This role is critical for implementing and managing security controls, policies, and procedures to protect the organisation's information assets. You will work closely with IT and business units to ensure compliance and mitigate security risks. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Develop, review, and update security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed reports and remediation plans.
• Provide security awareness training to employees and promote a security-conscious culture.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in an information security role.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
• Familiarity with network security and data loss prevention (DLP) concepts.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
