About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Security Specialist to join their team in Glasgow . This role focuses on the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of security controls designed to protect organizational data and systems. You will be involved in day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, threat analysis, and incident response, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security infrastructure and analyze security logs for potential threats and anomalies.
• Perform regular security checks, audits, and vulnerability scans on systems and applications.
• Assist in the response and investigation of security incidents, documenting findings and remediation steps.
• Support the implementation and management of security tools and technologies such as antivirus, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Contribute to the development and updating of security documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and support to end-users on security best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in an information security role or a closely related IT security function.
• Familiarity with common security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and basic security principles.
• Experience with security monitoring tools and SIEM platforms is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment in Glasgow .
