About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Information Security Specialist to bolster their security efforts in Leeds . This role is crucial for identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, developing security awareness programs, and ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of company data. You will work closely with various departments to embed security best practices into daily operations and respond to emerging threats. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security risk assessments and recommend appropriate controls and countermeasures.
• Implement and manage security awareness training programs for all employees.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Assist in the investigation of security breaches and unauthorized access incidents.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of security controls.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in an information security role.
• Knowledge of common security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001.
• Experience with endpoint security solutions and basic network security concepts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences on security topics.
