About the Role
Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and adaptable Information Security Specialist to join their team, offering a hybrid working model from their Portsmouth office. You will be instrumental in protecting the organisation's digital infrastructure by implementing and managing security controls, monitoring for threats, and responding to security incidents. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and a strategic understanding of cybersecurity risks, enabling you to contribute to a robust and evolving security framework. You will collaborate with IT and business units to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security solutions including firewalls, endpoint protection, and access control systems.
- Monitor security systems and analyse logs to detect and respond to potential threats and intrusions.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts with IT teams.
- Assist in developing and updating security policies and procedures to align with best practices.
- Support the incident response process, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
- Provide technical guidance and support on security best practices to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Solid experience in an information security or cybersecurity role.
- Strong understanding of network security concepts, common vulnerabilities, and defence mechanisms.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex security issues.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities, suitable for a hybrid role.
