The Vacancy
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at LDE, an RSK Group company. This is a full time and permanent position that would suit someone who is ready to start their career with a team of industry experts.
LDE are a building services engineering consultancy based in the Wigan area. Formed in 2003, RSK LDE provide a complete engineering design service for residential and commercial development projects, both pre and post planning. It now has a highly experienced team made up of professional civil and structural engineering staff with many years’ experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects.
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of infrastructure design projects, producing high-quality designs and drawings while ensuring projects are delivered to programme and the latest industry standards. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, authorities and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, compliant and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare infrastructure designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.
- Work collaboratively within the design team to deliver projects to agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Liaise with Local Authorities and Drainage Authorities to secure approvals for adoptable works (Sections 104, 38 and 278).
- Coordinate programme, communication and project requirements to support successful project delivery.
- Maintain and enhance technical knowledge through CPD, training and industry updates.
- Undertake engineering calculations and designs in accordance with current standards, codes of practice and industry best practice.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant degree or HNC qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in drawing production and the design of roads, sewers and residential developments.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PDS for highway design and ground modelling and CIRIA SuDS Manual.
- Understand and implement Designer’s duties under the CDM Regulations 2015.
- Working knowledge of Sewers for Adoption 6th/7th Edition.
