About the Role
Our client is recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead significant development projects from their Sunderland base. You will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and successful delivery of infrastructure schemes, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is critical to managing stakeholder relationships and driving projects forward within the Tyne and Wear region. You'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on local communities and the built environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of infrastructure projects, from initial planning and procurement to construction and handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against them.
- Oversee project teams, including engineers, site staff, and contractors.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues as they arise.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience (e.g., 8+ years) in project management, specifically within infrastructure development.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and budgets effectively.
- Strong understanding of contract management and procurement processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Relevant project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) is advantageous.
