Installation Engineer - Security Systems

About the Role

Our client is searching for a dedicated Installation Engineer specializing in security systems to operate within the Reading area and surrounding Berkshire region. This role involves the physical installation, configuration, and testing of various security equipment, including alarms, CCTV, and access control systems, at client premises. You will be essential in ensuring the safety and security of our customers' properties through precise and reliable installations. This position requires a technically adept individual with strong attention to detail and excellent customer-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission security systems such as intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control solutions.
• Conduct site surveys to determine the optimal placement and requirements for security equipment.
• Test all installed systems thoroughly to ensure they are fully operational and meet specifications.
• Provide customers with basic training on how to use their new security systems.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, including wiring diagrams and system configurations.

Requirements

• Previous experience installing and maintaining security systems is essential.
• Good understanding of low-voltage wiring, network configurations, and electronic security principles.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in electronic installations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must possess a valid UK driving license and be able to travel throughout the Reading service area.
