About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their technical team in Reading . This vital role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems used in various industrial processes. You will ensure optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of complex systems through precise calibration, configuration, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, control valves, and analysers.
- Develop and implement control strategies and logic for process automation using DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems.
- Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot a wide range of industrial instruments and control devices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, cause & effect charts, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams, operations personnel, and vendors to ensure successful system integration and operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering in process industries.
- Proficiency with major DCS and PLC platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV, Siemens S7).
- Strong knowledge of process control theory, instrumentation principles, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- Experience with relevant industry standards such as ISA, IEC, and API.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
