About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their key operations in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for the design, implementation, calibration, and maintenance of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems across industrial processes. You will ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and reliability of measurement and control devices, contributing to the efficiency and safety of operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, specify, and select appropriate instrumentation for process measurement and control applications.
- Develop and implement control strategies using PLCs, DCS, and other control platforms.
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain instruments such as sensors, transmitters, valves, and actuators.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain P&ID diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation for instrumentation and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations relevant to instrumentation and control engineering in Edinburgh .
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within an industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of process control theory, feedback loops, and automation systems.
- Proficiency with various instrumentation types (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level) and communication protocols (e.g., HART, Fieldbus).
- Experience with PLC/DCS programming and configuration is essential.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
