Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Our client is seeking a meticulous Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their key operations in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities

• Design, specify, and select appropriate instrumentation for process measurement and control applications.
• Develop and implement control strategies using PLCs, DCS, and other control platforms.
• Configure, calibrate, and maintain instruments such as sensors, transmitters, valves, and actuators.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain P&ID diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation for instrumentation and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations relevant to instrumentation and control engineering in Edinburgh .

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of process control theory, feedback loops, and automation systems.
• Proficiency with various instrumentation types (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level) and communication protocols (e.g., HART, Fieldbus).
• Experience with PLC/DCS programming and configuration is essential.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
